Rug Care

Cleaning

Your 100% British Wool rug is naturally warm and durable.A regular programme of vacuuming will ensure prolonged life and appearance retention.Vacuuming prevents the migration of dirt into the pile where it can accumulate and increase wear.

When using a vacuum to clean your rug always use the nozzle attachment. With a woven Axminster construction you will notice a pile direction as you clean.Try to vacuum in the same direction as this is less abrasive and cleans perfectly.

Stains

Spills should always be cleaned immediately. Blot stains on your rug with a dry absorbent white cloth or paper towel. Avoid rubbing as this can spread the stain further. Once the stain is contained begin from the outside and work inwards applying a proprietary cleaner and blotting up as you go. Never use harsh detergents or chemicals.Once clean blot up excess cleaner and allow to dry.Once again,do not rub.

Please refer to a specialist for all other cleaning.

Shedding

Your MRC UK woven Axminster rug will shed a little fibre for the first few vacuums when new.

This is a natural process which occurs when a rug is new and is not a defect.  Avoid pulling any yarn out of the surface pile.  Clip any loose ends off even with the rug surface.
