Exclusive Rug Designs

I have produced an exclusive range of designs for The Moorland Rug Company, which is my first retail collection.  All these unique designs can be recoloured and resized, making them exclusive rugs for exclusive interiors.

The Crocus design is a custom rug design that combines bold, stylish floral forms with wool and silk, to make a striking contemporary statement suitable for modern interiors. 

My next design, the Tapestry, uses traditional scroll designs overlaid with each other and accentuated by a cut and loop pile effect that produces a unique and satisfying overall design. 

When I designed the Pedrera design I looked back at a fascinating visit to Barcelona, where I immersed myself in the fantastic ranks of its greatest architect Gaudi.  Those of you who know his work will see the tile effects I have tried to capture as a monochrome statement in a100% wool rug with small blocks of silk.  As a handtufted designer rug it offers a dramatic one off monochrome effect suitable for a contemporary scheme.

The 2 Bark rug designs, diagonal and vertical, came about through a study of, you’ve guessed it, bark, and the textural possibilities therein.  The ‘urban’ colourway nods towards comic book art and camouflage patterns, a one off design that can be recoloured into endless permutations.  The diagonal design is more pastel based and is intended to be customised through bold recolouring within an area rug scheme.

The Orchid is the jewel in the crown of the Moorland Rug Bespoke collection.  It features lavish quantities of silk in huge flowers creating a bold and striking unique rug.

Reflections design is based, as the name suggests, on light cast through a web of leaves and branches.  Silk is used to further enhance the shimmering effect of water in this enigmatic and intriguing bespoke designer rug.

Our final offering, Leaf, demonstrates the custom effects of carving and the way it can accentuate and embolden a rug design to give a deep 3 dimensional effect.

All The Moorland Rug Company exclusive rugs have the MRC logo, a black grouse, artfully concealed within each rug design.  Each exclusive rug is, therefore, unique as the position of the grouse changes with each unique piece.
